Missouri Association of School Librarians (MASL), gives a simple message about the role of school libraries today:
Missouri's school libraries are transforming - physically, virtually, and philosophically - to meet the needs of our
students, staff, parents, and community. Our libraries are adapting to today's needs, building skills beyond just reading
and research, and reaching into the areas of making and creating (MASL).
Missouri public school libraries adhere to standards set forth by Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). The standards are outlined here Missouri Standards and Quality Indicators.
