The library offers five copies of each of the Gateway-nominated books to increase participation in the reading incentive program.
Gateway Readers Award 2022-2023 Gateway Readers Award Program was created by the Missouri Association of School Librarians to encourage reading by selecting quality literature that appeals to Missouri high school students. Each year, a statewide group of librarians, teachers, and mostly students, select 15 books for the reading program. Any LRHS student who reads at least two of the chosen books will earn prizes and gifts in March and vote for their favorite book.
